Start your day with an integrative and intuitive morning practice in one of Bodhi Tree’s stunning yoga shalas, waking up with breath and movement amidst the sounds of the jungle. Enjoy a healthy breakfast, then take a short walk or catch a tuktuk down to Playa Guiones, where you can stroll for hours searching for shells & agates, or take a surf lesson and learn to ride the waves. Enjoy lunch at Bodhi Tree or check out Nosara, browsing the shops and restaurants, and meeting the locals. A variety of excursions will be available to those who want to explore and adventure, with daily free-time for those who want to chill out and listen to the sound of the waves. In the evening we’ll wind down with a relaxing restorative/yin/gentle yoga practice and blissful Yoga Nidra session to restore body and mind. And at least once during your week, plan to check out the Milky Way, hanging clear and bright over the beach at night.

The Location
Located in the beautiful province of Guanacaste in the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica, the community of Nosara, known as one of the most sophisticated beach towns in Costa Rica, has a lot to offer to travelers from around the world. The local citizens take pride in their pristine beaches and sustainability, sharing a passion for the protection of hundreds of acres of sprawling forest. Bodhi Tree also shares this passion and was creatively designed around nature, leaving the surrounding jungle as it was meant to be. The property contains over 8 acres of landscaped gardens with exotic flowers and 100-year-old Guanacaste and Pochote trees. Additionally, they strive to be as environmentally friendly as possible, conserving water by utilizing their own water treatment plant to irrigate the gardens without draining subcutaneous water supplies. They also utilize solar panels to heat all the the hot water required for the resort and are a proud, plastic free facility.

The Vibe
Getting There – Nosara’s nearest major airport is in Liberia, CR. The shuttle from Liberia is about 2.5 hours and 5 from San Jose. The retreat center can help organize shuttle transportation. There is also a small local airport in Nosara with daily flights from both San Jose and Liberia Airports.

About the Teacher: ERYT 500, Marin McCallen is a photographer, student of neuroscience and world traveler. Her time spent traveling and living in other countries (including Costa Rica!) and cultures has fostered an acceptance and willingness of heart and defines much of how she teaches and designs retreats. Curating unique, well-rounded and exceptional experiences is a natural passion and calling, and she loves sharing adventures with fellow explorers, seekers, and yogis. Marin’s teaching style is articulate, enthusiastic, grounded, powerful, and empowering.
